Addiction Treatment at Rehab Clinics Group
At Rehab Clinics Group, we believe it is important to deal with both the physical and psychological aspects of addiction.
The first port of call is dealing with the physical side and undergoing detoxification. This is the most immediate concern for us as your body needs to be healthier and your mind clearer for you to properly engage with the therapy treatments that come afterwards.
Detoxification is the process of flushing the harmful toxins out of your body that substances have filled it with and stopping your physical dependence on drugs and alcohol. Withdrawal symptoms are likely and to ease the worst of them medication will be provided. Though the idea of detoxing is trepidatious to many people, going through this process in a comfortable environment whilst being under 24/7 care by our dedicated staff is surely a preferable option to attempting it at home.
After this stage of treatment, you will begin therapy. Combining one-to-one sessions, group therapy, wellbeing therapies and social activities you will take part in a personalised programme that is scientifically proven to work in helping people conquer their addictions. There will also be family days, so even if you are away from home you can still have access to that support that you are familiar with and may need from time to time.
Stress management, quiz night, and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy are all activities you will do in residential rehab. Throughout it, your physical and mental health is our absolute priority and any changes to the plan will be made if we and you agree it is needed.
Dual Diagnosis Treatment
Dual diagnosis is a term to describe when a person is experiencing both addiction issues and mental health problems concurrently. Sometimes, the conditions develop together as one or one came first and maybe the cause of the other arising.
Substance abuse and mental health issues tend to arise in tandem as many people self-medicate to cope with their struggles. In turn, substances such as alcohol can alter brain chemistry and be the cause of depression and anxiety – leading to people becoming suicidal. If allowed to continue untreated, fatal consequences can occur.
As mental health problems and addiction are closely linked, both separate must be treated when you are in rehab. We offer dual diagnosis treatment, utilising a combination of mental health treatments and addiction treatments to ensure that neither condition has the space or time to build stronger and completely overtake your life.
With both forms of treatment, you will explore the origins of the conditions and figure out how to stop them from controlling your life.
What Comes After Rehab?
When you come to the end of your time in rehab, you may think that is the recovery journey done – it’s only beginning.
This may fill you with trepidation as you try to remember all you’ve learnt in such a short time and implement it into everyday life. This is completely natural and we understand that the first few months after rehab can be overwhelming.
To help you with this, we offer a 12-month free aftercare package. Your personalised aftercare plan is conceived by you and our aftercare specialists, acting as a road map for your first year of sobriety. With this plan, you’ll have milestones to celebrate, things to work on and advice on what to do when a relapse might be near.
The bulk of aftercare is focused on attending weekly support meetings. When you have people to lean on and offer advice to yourself, you are less likely to relapse.
Aftercare is a great tool in relapse prevention if you are open to continuing the work you began in our rehab clinic. Eventually, the road to long-term recovery will be smoother and your life will be more fulfilling.
What is the Timeline of Rehab?
A treatment programme with us at Rehab Clinics Group takes on average 28 days. Some people need to stay longer and therefore the cost is higher.
After admission, the detox regime will begin in earnest and can take from 5-14 days. In the latter stages of this portion of rehab, you will begin therapy sessions as you will be much healthier.
The rest of your approximately month’s stay will be in therapy and engaging in social activities in your downtime.
The official timeline of rehab ends when you leave. But with our aftercare, you will remain on your recovery journey for much longer. Many people continually attend support meetings and remain vigilant about recovery to avoid relapse. Whilst rehab eventually comes to an end, some feel that the idea of recovery never does as addiction can be waiting around the corner.
A life of recovery can be fulfilling, allowing you to be the best version of yourself and private drug and alcohol rehab can help you achieve that.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
How Do I Prepare To Go To Rehab?
To prepare for rehab, the main thing that you need to be is ready to make serious changes to your lifestyle, thought patterns, and behaviour. The willingness to commit to recovery and give yourself over to the positive changes that specialist therapists can bring about is key to a successful stay at rehab. We do not advise detoxing at home prior to arrival as this is extremely dangerous, and you will instead undertake detox and withdrawal in the clinic. -
What are the options for therapy?
There are many different types of therapy that you can experience which will help you in your journey of overcoming an addiction. There are both physical and mental treatments which you may benefit from — as addiction can affect you in both ways. The blend of physical and psychological therapies that our referrals will see you benefit from mean you will experience a wide array of therapy types to better combat your addictive disorder. -
Is rehab expensive?
There are many options when it comes to rehab and so the cost varies. If you are wanting to access a premium private inpatient rehab, then the cost will be a lot more than going on an outpatient basis. Outpatient rehab costs less as you are accessing fewer facilities (private room, food) and can be an option for those with a mild dependence on drugs and/or alcohol. The NHS provides free options but there is usually a long waiting list, and the quality of care might not match that of a private facility.
