About This Page

Rehab is the best and most effective solution to long-term abstinence following substance abuse. The misuse of substances, including illegal drugs, prescription drugs and alcohol is very dangerous. Using a substance that serves no purpose but to make you more sick and addicted can have major consequences. There are many elements of discrimination around users. Rehab seeks to change your life’s course and write a better future.

If you are fearful of entering rehab, it is important to note that you should consider seeking support from experts in rehabilitation clinics and we must emphasise that addiction is a serious disease that must be addressed head-on to make recovery possible.

Why Is Rehab So Important?

Benefits of Rehab

Why Is Rehab So Important?Addiction can cause major health issues. Certain issues can include physical violence, mood swings, risk of serious health problems, predisposition to the development of mental illnesses such as borderline personality disorders, schizophrenia, bipolarity, depression, ADHD, and more. Therefore, when you enter rehab, you can remove the risk of all of the above.

Rehabilitation is not just about stopping using drugs, it’s about learning to be happy. Which is one of the biggest benefits. It will allow you to delve into past traumas and learn to heal. You can learn to enjoy life calmly and move forwards by integrating back into society. You can learn to progress with your career and make the steps towards your goals.

In short, the main benefit of rehabilitating is learning to live in the here and now, with mindfulness at the core. Therapies and counselling give you tips and long-term help to ensure that your mental health is at its optimum best.

Some major benefits to note are:

  • Removal of the addiction
  • Dealing with past traumas
  • Dealing with anxiety and depression
  • Starting a new path and journey
  • Starting a new career or starting education

Results of Rehab

You will begin to see results in rehab as quickly as 7 days. Detox will have a huge effect on your body. It is known that there may be some difficult symptoms to manage, but professional medical personnel will be on hand to ensure you have a safe and comfortable detox. This environment is compatible with a healthy detox period.

The length of treatment in rehab depends on many factors. This includes the nature and severity of the addiction. This will mean that your results may happen quicker than other people; but you must never compare to other stories. Everyone is an individual. Generally, rehab stays last from 28 to 90 days, although shorter or more intensive programs can be accommodated depending on your needs.

The early Withdrawal Stage happens 2 to 4 weeks after abstinence. In this phase, you may feel good and with a lot of energy. You will feel healthier, but you will then enter the second phase of your rehab. The prolonged Abstinence Stage happens 3-4 months after early abstinence.

It is defined by a stage of sadness, emotional changes, irritability, difficulty concentrating, low energy and general lack of enthusiasm that are the result of chemical changes in the brain. You will feel less need for the consumption of any substance, and therefore, your mind will be clearer.

Next comes the readjustment 2 months after prolonged abstinence. You will have a well-structured aftercare plan. In this period, your team will be beginning to assist you with reintegration and meeting new goals. It will be vital now to maintain the changes made and maintain a toxic-free lifestyle.

You will have access to the best resources in the recovery process and monitor you as time moves forward. Your rehab slowly moves to a type of outpatient care, and your aftercare plan will give you all the tools, treatment and therapies that you need.

Addictions Treated

It should be noted that rehab deals with a range of addictions and different levels of severity. We will first define the different degrees of dependency:

Mild Dependence

A person in a state of mild dependence can perform most acts of daily living. However, it may affect certain elements of their life, including financial troubles or the worry about finding more of the substance. They may think about their addiction quite often but it does not define their life entirely.

Partial Dependence

The state of partial dependence may mean that you are no longer able to carry out certain acts of daily living. You may struggle with work, there may be issues with managing and maintaining your daily life, and there may be some worries among your friends and family. It may include financial troubles and a need to take the substance often (daily, weekly etc).

Total Dependence

This is a severe state of addiction and this dependence will take over many aspects, if not all, of your life. This means you may have lost interest in daily life, and your addiction rules your actions daily. You may have severe financial difficulties and troubles among friends and family. You will need a continuous presence of the substance in your life.

Any type of addiction needs intervention, regardless of the severity. Some of the most common addictions are of course alcoholism and substance abuse. However, there are many forms of addiction. You may have a type of behavioural addiction which may include gambling or impulse addictions. Some of the types we deal with successfully are:

Any addiction can be treated and managed. There is no addiction that we cannot aim to tackle. When you commit to a programme, it shows a dedication to becoming healthy. Abstinence can remain if you set goals and focus on a healthier future. We simply accommodate these goals and support you. You will always have a warm and friendly team there, to offer minimal or maximum help in the times that you need it the most.
