Benefits Of Residential Addiction Treatment

Outpatient treatments often seem like the most ideal treatment option, but in reality it is one of the most challenging.

Attending a detox clinic during the day and then returning home in the evenings and at weekends means that you’re surrounded by the negative influences that drive your addiction, whilst you’re at your most vulnerable.

Residential addiction treatment, on the other hand, provides distance between you and your daily lifestyle that has become a toxic way to live. By giving yourself space, you can reflect and focus entirely on your recovery, healing your mind, body and soul.

At Rehab Clinics Group, we have one of the largest groups of private drug and alcohol rehabilitation centres. Our centres provide quality accommodation, designed to make you feel at home and each centre provides round the clock care.

Our personalised, evidence-based treatment programmes offer you the chance to not only understand your addiction, but teaches you to manage those cravings in day-to-day scenarios.

Recovery doesn’t have to be a lonely experience, by choosing residential treatment you’ll be surrounded by people who share similar experiences to you. Peer support is a powerful motivator and we encourage you to reach out to others.

We understand that you’re need for treatment is urgent, so when you reach out to us we’ll arrange for your admittance to one of our centres as soon as you’re ready to go, it can be as quick as within 48 hours. If the centre is further afield, we can also help to organise transport.

Our Facilities

Residential addiction treatment centres are often envisioned as prisons or sterile hospital buildings that lock you in for 28 days. This could not be further from the truth.

With luxury accommodation, a homely feel, expansive grounds and friendly staff, you’ll receive a warm welcome upon arrival. When you first arrive you’ll be provided with a tour of the grounds and shown the facilities to enable you to make the most of the amenities during your stay.

Sharing facilities with other residents you’ll have the opportunity to offer and receive peer support with people that share similar experiences to you, but when you require a bit of privacy you can retreat to your quarters or find a reflective space within the grounds.

With activities that range from acupuncture and mindfulness, to movie evenings and day trips, you’ll have the opportunity to not only recover from your addiction with more traditional methods, such as detox and therapy, but you’ll also have the opportunity to develop a healthier lifestyle.

Our centres do not lock you in, in fact we encourage all of our residents to explore the local area in between treatments, as you’re free to come and go from the centre.

Personalised Treatment Programmes

Recovery is a personal journey, which is why all of our treatments are tailored to you. Upon arrival at our drug and alcohol rehabilitation centre you’ll undergo a full medical assessment. This will give our medical staff the chance to assess your physical and psychological health before your treatment programme is finalised.

Detox is always the first step for any programme and is required to clear your head, ready for your treatment. It usually takes a couple of days and is always supervised by our medical professionals.

During this process you’ll experience withdrawal symptoms, which is your body’s reaction to the slow reduction in consumption.

During your day-to-day life your body and brain have grown accustomed to the your level of alcohol and drugs consumption, so when you reduce this level your body has to readjust to coping without it.

Your brain will be telling you to consume more throughout the process and withdrawal symptoms are your body’s reaction, which can be as minute as a headache to as severe as seizures, which is why medical supervision is required.

After a couple of days you’ll be ready to start your therapy treatment. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is the most commonly used type of therapy and is well suited to aiding addiction recovery.

It focuses on identifying your negative thought processes to help you develop more positive habits and thought patterns. Alongside CBT, you may also undertake various other types of therapy including:

  • Bereavement Counselling
  • Trauma & Abuse Counselling
  • PTSD Counselling
  • Stress Management
  • Family Therapy
  • Art, Drama or Music Therapy

Your holistic treatment programme will also include various other wellbeing activities and treatments such as; acupuncture, diet and nutrition therapy and relaxation therapy.

However, its not just about treatment, as you’ll have some downtime as well where you can either reflect and relax or take part in various fitness or communal activities available at the centre or outside of the centre.

Aftercare

After successfully completing your rehabilitation you’ll complete a drug and alcohol relapse prevention plan, which will help you to manage your cravings and maintain your long term recovery.

The first 12 months after leaving drug and alcohol rehab in Harlow are always the most challenging, which is why we’ll provide you with a free aftercare programme.

We’ll introduce you to local support groups, such as Alcoholics Anonymous, or Narcotics and help you settle back into life at home.
