What To Do If You Think You Have Become Addicted To Substances

If, like many others, you have come to realise that your relationship with substances has begun to impair your physical and psychological health, securing treatment for a drug or alcohol addiction is vital.

At Rehab Clinics Group, we appreciate that you may worry about taking the first step in securing addiction treatment.  You may even think that your addiction is not yet severe enough to take advantage of addiction treatment.

Should this resonate with you, we must stop you in your tracks.  Irrespective of whether you think your addiction is severe enough to seek treatment or not, you must do so.  Sadly, the longer you wait to secure treatment, the more extreme your addiction will become.

Considering this, if you think you have become addicted to substances, you must contact a drug and alcohol rehab in Ayrshire. If you have been unable to do so, you could contact us.

In doing so, we will listen to you as you express how your addiction has controlled your life.

When you call us, we will also ask you many questions that will help us determine whether you require addiction treatment.  If we believe that treatment is necessary, we will discuss your options with you and help you take the first step in overcoming your struggles with substances.

Securing Treatment At One Of Our Residential Rehabs

When you contact us to determine whether addiction treatment is necessary, we will help you refer yourself to one of our residential rehabs for treatment.

Although you may have had your heart set on attending a drug and alcohol rehab in Ayrshire, securing treatment at one of our residential rehabs is highly advised.

Not only will doing so ensure that you can take advantage of industry-leading treatment programmes, but it will also enable you to remove yourself from your everyday surroundings and recuperate in a safe, secure and professional environment.

While we understand that attending a residential rehab may leave you feeling apprehensive, we would ask you to consider that if you attend a drug and alcohol rehab in Ayrshire, you may continue to be surrounded by the factors and triggers that have caused your addiction to arise.

As a result, you may find recovering from your addiction rather tricky. You may also find yourself at greater risk of relapsing.

To secure treatment at one of our rehabs, you will firstly be required to complete a pre-admissions assessment.  This assessment is typically conducted via telephone and takes around 30-minutes to complete.

Conducted by our admissions team, you will, as touched on above, need to answer a couple of questions.  The answers you provide will allow our admissions team to review how your addiction has come to impair your life.

Your pre-admission assessment will also provide an understanding of the severity of your addiction.

Upon completing your pre-admission assessment, our admissions team will inform you of the options you have regarding treatment.  If you are happy to go ahead and refer yourself to one of our clinics, our team will provide you with an admissions date.

If you would prefer to complete your pre-admission assessment in person, please let us know.

Starting Your Personalised Treatment Programme

As you enter one of our rehab clinics, you will be provided with a personalised treatment programme.  Created by a team of medical professionals, psychologists and recovery support workers, your treatment programme will see you undergo a medically induced detoxification and rehabilitation.

Your medically induced detoxification will see you begin to withdraw from the substances that you have become addicted to.

Although withdrawing from substances can be slightly unpleasant, you will have around the clock care and medical support at all times.  You will also undergo one-to-one therapy to ensure that you can express how you feel.

Upon completing your medically induced detoxification programme, you will commence rehabilitation.  During rehabilitation, you will encounter several psychological and well-being therapies, including cognitive behavioural therapy, dialectical behavioural therapy, stress management and mindfulness sessions.

Conducted in both one-to-one and group settings, therapy will encourage you to determine how your addiction initially developed and the factors that contributed.

While this may cause you to feel uncomfortable, understanding what caused your addiction to develop will enable you to work with our recovery team to create coping strategies and a relapse prevention plan.

Please note that the treatments above are typically incorporated into treatment programmes. However, the exact treatment you receive during your time in one of our clinics will be dependent upon the severity of your addiction and the physical and psychological ramifications experienced.

Aftercare Support

When the time comes for you to leave our clinic, we will ensure that you can access 12-months of free aftercare support.

Aftercare support will enable you to continue to take advantage of group therapy and will provide you with continued support and guidance.

Even if you do not think you need aftercare support, we highly recommend that you accept the support offered to you.  Sadly, when appropriate aftercare support is not provided, a large proportion of individuals that have completed a rehabilitation programme relapse.
